LEARNING OBJECTVIE: To discover how to work out the angles along a straight line and the angles around a point, and use these facts to solve problems

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to remember what angles along a straight line always add up to and what angles around a point add up to and then use these facts to solve problems

ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: Use screen 1 from this Lesson to consolidate adding up tom 90, 180.

LESSON: Use the first 4 screens in the lesson to give lots of practice in solving problems. Repeat queston screens many times to give lots of practise.

Give out a card triangle to each student emphasise that they are all different triangles, get them to check with each other.

Label the angles A, B and C. Show students how to tear their triangle into three separate vertices. Let them put the vertices together and see what happens.

Can they write down a rule about the three angles of a triangle. Work through rest of screens from lesson again using question screens repeatedly to give lots of practice.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: Students Will be able to solve exam problems involving triangles

ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: How high is that tree?

LESSON: Collect in homework – two past papers

Get as much as possible out of students regards their knowledge and understanding of trigonometry(SOHCAHTOA and Sine Rule)

Look at some problems on IWB Pages 56 & 57 of this document.

If time introduce the cosine rule as well, using this lesson.

PLENARY: Checking answers, student feedback and confidence.
