STARTER: Can you draw pictures of the fractions on the IWB

LESSON: ON IWB SHow how to find equivalent fractions once you can draw a picture of a fraction. Use the blanks on Notebook File.

EXTENSION: Can you find equivalent fractions without drawing a diagram, and can you complete the missing numerators and denominators in the list provided.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You Will be able to sort a list of fractions into order

STARTER: Fraction snake

LESSON: on IWB Using Fraction tool from echalk as an aid, look at putting two fractions in order of size.

Give students some examples to do themselves. Extend to three fractions, with examples for them to complete

Look at adding fractions using equivalences, then lots of examples to try
